House Votes to Prohibit Federal Funding to ACORN
With a vote of 345 to 75, House Republicans on Thursday took one more step toward eliminating all federal funding for ACORN. The ‘Defund ACORN Act’ will prohibit any and all “federal contract grant, cooperative agreement or any other form of agreement (including a memorandum of understanding” from being awarded to or entered into between any part of the Federal Government and ACORN. Additionally it will prohibit any federal fund from being provided to the group “…in any other form…”
