House Votes to Prohibit Federal Funding to ACORN

Reader's Questions With a vote of 345 to 75, House Republicans on Thursday took one more step toward eliminating all federal funding for ACORN. The ‘Defund ACORN Act’ will prohibit any and all “federal contract grant, cooperative agreement or any other form of agreement (including a memorandum of understanding” from being awarded to or entered into between any part of the Federal Government and ACORN. Additionally it will prohibit any federal fund from being provided to the group “…in any other form…”

Congress Condemns Iranian Crackdown, Obama Administration Refuses to Budge

Congress passes resolution condemning Iranian crackdown where President Obama refuses Seeking to, in the words of House Republican Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia, urge President Obama “…to speak out on behalf of the Iranian people and their quest for freedom and human rights” the House and Senate have passed Republican backed resolutions condemning Tehran’s crackdown on protestors.
