On this Memorial Day, the staff of TabRight.com would like to send our gratitude & voice our admiration for the brave men & women who have fought for our country, have served with honor and protected our country in times of war and during the peace. We salute the members of the U.S. military and their families. We, as Americans, owe them more than we can ever express with mere words. Thank you.

If you would like to help show our nation’s gratitude, we have listed a couple of programs below that do an outstanding job doing just that:

Operation Gratitude - Hundreds of thousands of American troops are deployed in hostile and remote regions of the world, including the Middle East, Afghanistan, Africa, Guantanamo Bay and on ships throughout international waters. The physical conditions they must endure are difficult and they may be separated from loved ones for long periods of time. OPERATION GRATITUDE seeks to lift troops’ morale, and bring a smile to their faces by sending care packages addressed to individual service members deployed overseas. OPERATION GRATITUDE care packages contain food, toiletries, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support.

Wounded Warrior Hospital - To provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured or killed during combat operations. The families of our casualties suffer in many ways: some financially, some psychologically.

Wounded Warior Project - The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. To raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women. To help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severly injured service members.

NOTE: TabRight.com holds no connection, financially or contractually, to the organizations listed above. We simply support our troops & from what we have heard, believe these are good organizations with noble goals. As always, we advise our readers to research any organization, listed on TabRight.com or not, prior to donating items or funds.

Continuing our Political Humor on a Holiday Weekend, the following is a letter we were forwarded from one of our readers. As it turns out to be, in various forms, on several other sites we cannot vouch for its authenticity. However we do think it is worth a chuckle or two -

Happy Labor Day Weekend America!

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters,

We’ve stuck together since the late 1950s, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know that we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and just will not ever agree on what’s right. So let’s just end it right now while we can do it on friendly terms. We can smile, shake hands, chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and each go our own way.

So here’s a model separation agreement.

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by land mass, each taking a portion. That’s going to be the difficult part, but I’m sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy. Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate taste. We don’t like redistributive taxes so you can have those. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. And since you hate guns and you hate war, we’ll take the firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Janeane Garofalo, Sean Penn and Rosie O’Donnell. But you are going to be responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to haul them around.

We’ll keep the capitalism, the greedy corporations, the pharmaceutical companies; we will keep Wal-Mart, Wall Street and Conservative Talk Radio. You can have the homeless, the homeboys, the hippies, the illegal aliens and Al Franken’s Air America. We will keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, the greedy CEOS and all of the rednecks. We will keep the Drudge Report, TabRight.com, the Heritage Foundation and the Christian Coalition. You can have men’s low-rider jeans, NBC, as many Michael Moore Films as you can carry or for that matter Hollywood itself.

You can be nice to Iran, send your former Presidents to dictatorships such as North Korea and make overtures to Hamas. We’ll retain the right to invade and hammer anybody that threatens us. You can have the peaceniks and the war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we will provide them with security. You won’t have to worry about it. We will keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to the ‘ism’s (such as Humanism), the ‘ologies’ (such as Scientology) and Shirley Maclaine. You can also have the UN, but we will no longer pay the bill.

We will keep the SUVs, the pickup trucks and the oversize luxury cars. You can have the compacts, the subcompacts, Smart Cars and every Subaru station wagon you can find. You can give everybody health care, if you can find any practicing doctors. We will continue to believe that health care is better without the long lines and is no place for a government to decide who gets what and when its time to die. We will keep “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and the national anthem, and I am sure you will be happy to substitute in their place “Imagine.” I’d like to teach the world to sing “Kumbaya” or “We are the world.” We will practice trickle-down economics and you can give trickle-up poverty your best shot. And since it so offends you, we will keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots. And if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the friendly spirit of parting, I’ll bet you all the Oil in Anwar which one of us will need whose help in about 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J Wall

Law student and an American

P.S. We will also keep Vice President Cheney, Dick Morris and Rush. Inexchange you can have Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda and President Obama.

On June 11th a Chinese submarine reportedly damaged an underwater sonar array that was being towed by the U.S. Destroyer USS John S. McCain. While the Sub is suspected to have been tracking the U.S. Destroyer the Chinese officially reported the incident as an accident and dismissed comments concerning the potential risks from the Chinese sub following so closely. U.S. counterparts attribute the “accident” as part of a growing pattern of Chinese muscle flexing in the region.

With the significant expansion of the Chinese military over the past decade, such run-ins between the militaries of the U.S. and China have increased. This is particularly true in the South China Sea. China has increasingly claimed the South China Sea as its own territorial waters and charged that U.S. surveillance there is illegal. In 2009 alone, there have been at least four incidents of Chinese flagged “fishing boats” maneuvering uncomfortably close to unarmed U.S. civilian ships. In each case the U.S. ship was being utilized by the Pentagon for underwater surveillance or submarine hunting.

Talks aimed at reducing and avoiding potential confrontations between U.S. and Chinese flagged ships have taken place, however until Wednesday, they had been on an 18 month hold. Those close to the talks have stated issues related to the U.S. sales of arms to Taiwan have been the primary issue causing delays. Under the Obama Administration it is currently unclear if additional sales, and therefore additional objects from the Chinese, should be expected. However, perhaps hinting that the Chinese believe they will not, a meeting for next month has been agreed to(including talks concerning North Korea) by representatives of both countries.

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army deputy chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Ma Xiaotian told reporters at the end of Wednesday’s talks, “Our two sides agreed to work together to avoid such incidents from happening again since such incidents will surely have a negative impact on our bilateral relations in general.”

The stories of your brave and noble actions will not be forgotten – Thank you

—————–

If you would like to help show our nation’s gratitude to all our veterans and members of the military, we have listed a couple of programs below that do an outstanding job doing just that:

Earlier this year President Obama ignored calls to veto the Omnibus bill and instead signed it without requesting a single change. This bill contained over 8500 earmarks, a clear breaking with Obama’s campaign pledge not to allow wasteful spending and pork in bills during his administration. Critics at the time pointed out that the President could have requested changes in the bill but instead justified its signing by calling it “…old business…” and pledging it would be the last bill with earmarks during his administration.

This past Thursday President Obama broke yet another campaign promise. During the campaign, and since, President Obama has criticized former President Bush for requesting military funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan outside of the normal budget. Obama has pledged to include such funding in the regular budget and stated not doing so hides the cost of war. On Thursday President Obama, outside of the regular budget, requested from Congress an additional $83.4 billion in military funding to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The administration stated this would be the last time that the President would make such a request outside of the normal budgetary process.

With less than 4 and 1/2 weeks since the President signed the Omnibus Bill, without requesting a single change, one has to ask… Did the President and his administration forget to ask the Pentagon if it would require additional funding before the end of the fiscal year covered by the Omnibus bill or was it because the President felt he couldn’t afford the political fallout of requesting the funding in the Omnibus bill without eliminating the earmarks?

Either way, President Obama had the authority and ability to both veto the Omnibus bill until wasteful pork was eliminated as well as to request Congress to provide the necessary funding. Either way, the President could have kept both campaign promises while saving the American tax payer money and ensuring the troops weren’t left out in the cold.

Just one man’s observation…
