When President Obama decided to scrap Former President Bush’s Long-Range Missile Shield program, the Administration openly defended the decision in part by suggesting the move would help form closer ties with Russia. Ties that would include Russian willingness to support increased sanctions against Iran. Today some members of the Administration maybe wishing they hadn’t said that.
On Tuesday, after meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters…

Seeking to, in the words of House Republican Whip Eric Cantor of Virginia, urge President Obama “…to speak out on behalf of the Iranian people and their quest for freedom and human rights” the House and Senate have passed Republican backed resolutions condemning Tehran’s crackdown on protestors. While not committing the U.S. to any specific actions the resolutions reportedly include statements condemning “the ongoing violence” by the Iranian government toward demonstrators as well as that government’s attempts at “suppression of independent electronic communications through interference with the Internet and Cell Phones.” … Critics of the President include his response as part of a trend they believe may have serious consequences for the U.S. in the future. Noting examples such as Hillary Clinton’s reluctance …

On this date in 1989 the Chinese military was ordered to conduct an assault on pro-democracy student demonstrators in Tianamen Square. The actual number of Chinese citizens injured, killed or arrested is unclear to this day. In the United States, the Democratic party has self declared itself as the party of Human Rights. Whether it is investigating who approved of the use of Enhanced Interrogation Techniques, calling for the end of Camp Gitmo or vocally condemning nations for their poor record on human rights.

So when President Obama was elected, many on the left assumed that he would follow in the footsteps of Former President Jimmy Carter and place Human Rights as a top priority of his Administration and therefore U.S. foreign policy. However, with the Administration depending…

Caroline Kennedy has formally announced that she is interested in taking Hillary Clinton’s open Senate seat. Kennedy is the daughter of late President Kennedy and the niece of Senator Edward Kennedy. Critics argue that beyond being one of America’s most famous political families, Kennedy does not have the experience to fill the shoes of former New York Senators such as Kenneth Keating, Daniel Patrick Moynihan and James Buckley. Further they argue that if Caroline Kennedy’s last name was Jones, she would not be in consideration. Likely to…
