Ignoring the obvious historical mistakes (Automobiles were actually invented in Germany, not the United States; The transcontinental railroad was planed during the civil war but built afterwards), even critics of President Obama have stated it was delivered very well. According to a January 9th report by NPR, after seeing the US unemployment rate jump to 7.2% President Elect Obama was quoted stating “Clearly, the situation is dire…It is deteriorating and it demands urgent and immediate action…This is the time to act.”…On January 7th, CNN reported that the Congressional Budget Office projects the U.S. budget deficit for 2009 will skyrocket to a record $…Question: If we are in an economic crisis and the “…the situation is dire…”, “…Disastrous…” and “…This is the time to act…”, couldn’t this money be used for something else?…

In an October 2008 interview with the Standard-Times, U.S. House of Representative Barney Frank (D-Mass) proposed a 25% cut in military spending. Congressman Frank explained the cuts could be achieved by getting out of Iraq & forcing the Pentagon to eliminate some of its weapon programs.
