Hundreds (if not thousands) of Muslims are currently serving in the U.S. Military. These are men and women who have chosen to serve their country and, like all who serve, they deserve the respect and thanks of the American public. With that said, it is the responsibility of the U.S. military to ensure those who serve are not a threat to others in the military, the American public or the American government. It does not matter whether or not the individual is white, black, male, female, Catholic, Muslim or Buddhist – if an individual’s actions imply … We now know that Hasan openly objected to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
