Ignoring the hype around the “Cash for Clunkers” program, sales are either still down or barely improved. According to a recent CBS News report, Auto Sales July 2009 vs July 2008 can be summarize as follows:

GM sales are down by 19%
Chrysler sales are down by 9%
Ford, the only winner, are only up by 2.3%
