Editorial: Is there a double standard in the media? Tea Parties vs. Universal Health Care Rallies

The media claims not to be bias, however yesterday’s coverage makes one wonder…

In April outraged Republicans, Democrats and Independents around the country held marches and rallies calling for Congress and the Obama Administration to reign in spending, borrowing and taxes. With the Federal Government planning to borrow at least one dollar for every two dollars it spends, demonstrators came from all walks of life, backgrounds and while not heavily reported as such, from my experience in the rallies, ethnicities. Liberal observers, the drive by media and others called the demonstrations (also known as Tea parties), and those who participated, “pathetic”, “ignorant” and in the words of one Hollywood comic “Racists.”

Yesterday, reportedly in several cities across the country…

Nancy Pelosi – “I won’t have anything more to say about it, I won’t have anything more to say about it”

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi accused the CIA of misleading her and Congress concerning Enhanced Interrorgation Techniques during the Bush Administration.  Observers point out the Speaker's stories concerning when and how she learned of the inclusion of Waterboarding, etc. have changed dramatically since the CIA released documents showing her attendance at a briefing on the subject as well as several statements from others confirming her knowledge and or attendance.  Photo Source: http://odeo.com Just one day after House Democrats blocked Republican efforts to call for an investigation ofSpeaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi’s allegations that the CIA lied to Congress concerning Enhanced Interrogation Techniques on suspect terrorists, Pelosi has refused to provide further comment on her allegations. On Friday, Pelosi used a parade of surrounding Democrats to direct questions during her weekly press conference toward non-related topics. At one point when this tactic failed, the Speaker stated she continued to stand by her comments but that “I won’t have anything more to say about it, I won’t have anything more to say about it.”
